About Amanda

Photo .png

Amanda is a classically-trained pianist and began playing the piano at the age of 4, when she climbed on a piano bench and played through book after book of her mother's collection of music books. Her parents' loving support of her love for music resulted in Amanda winning several piano competitions every year since the age of 4 and being offered an opportunity to tour with the Russian National Orchestra when she was 14 years old. She began teaching music lessons as a teenager, and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in music. Upon graduation, Amanda continued to teach private lessons as she started a family. Her love for working with children led her to earning a Master's degree in Child and Adolescent Developmental Psychology, and she now incorporates her musical expertise and deep understanding of child development into her work. Amanda saw a need for parents who understood the value of musical education at a young age, and carefully created a piano readiness class for preschoolers aged 3-5. She wanted the little ones to benefit from musical education and also prepare them for success when they were old enough to sit for formal lessons. Most importantly, in addition to being a thoughtful and intentional teacher who understands the impact of responsive and loving education on brain development, Amanda values connection, fun, and building confidence in the children she teaches, as is evident by her work as a teacher at the Child Development Research Center at Texas Tech University, and as an author who published a children's book of stories that increase emotional intelligence. Her greatest hope is for children to be loved well, and continue to be confident humans who value themselves.
